A Snowflake can be switched with another piece. A Snowflake falls down or diagonally as any other piece, yet, if you get several Snowflakes in a row, they won't disappear.
To do damage to a Snowflake, you must destroy a piece next to it by making a match, using a tool or a bonus. An explosion or a tool will also do damage if it affects a cell with a Snowflake.
