You can open 1 crate of tools for free every day. It contains the same items and resources as the crates purchased with coins. There is a timer in the lower part of the game screen that will tell you the time remaining till the next free crate arrives. As soon as a new free crate appears in the Wondershop, an indicator on the tab will inform you.
