To transfer the leadership:
1) Open the Alliance menu
2) Use the Transfer leadership option
3) Tap the player that you'd like to be the next leader, select the Choose option, and confirm your choice
Beside the transfer option, the leadership is automatically passed on to the most active player in the alliance if the leader is inactive for 20 days.
